Ingredients
For Halwa
Ghee (घी) – ½ cup
Semolina (सूजी) – 1 tbsp
Gram Flour (बेसन) – 1 tbsp
Cornflour (मक्की आटा) – 1 cup
Nuts chopped (ड्राई फ़्रूट्स) – handful
Cardamom powder (ईलीची) – a pinch
Rose water, optional (गुलाब जल) – 1 tbsp
For Syrup
Sugar (चीनी) – 1 cup
Water (पानी) – 1 cup

Heat a new pan and pour ghee. Once hot add suji and besan and keep stirring till besan gives out a pleasing roasted aroma. Do this on medium heat. No immediately add the makki ka atta and stir it. Keep cooking & stirring till it turns to a dark shade of brown. Once it reaches this stage add the thin sugar syrup and cook on low heat till it starts to thicken. |
