Directions
Origins – after the Portuguese occupied goa and settled there they deeply missed their baked breads. Hence they started baking breads in goa and poi was born. The locals quickly took to it and many version of the bred was made which included white flour to multi grain bread.
Ingredients
For Garlic chutney or Chilli Paste
- Dry red chilli Kashmiri (soaked) – 4-5nos
- Garlic cloves – 2nos
- Ginger chopped – 1tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Water – ½ cup
For Masala
- Butter – 2tbsp
- Onion chopped – ½ cup
- Green chilli chopped – 1tsp
- Pav bhaji masala powder -1tbsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Salt
- Garlic Chutney – 2tbsp
- Tomato chopped – ½ cup
- Capsicum – ¼ cup
- Lemon juice -1 tsp
- Pav Bread – 6nos
- Butter – 2tbsp
- Coriander chopped – handful
- Sev – handful

In a pan add water and give the dry chillies a quick boil, remove and add them to a mixer with ginger, garlic, garam masala and water. Grind it to a paste. |

In a pan melt butter, add onions, green chillies, and capsicum. Toss them together. Add pav bhaji masala, cumin powder, coriander powder and saute. Add chilli paste and cook them together. Add tomatoes and cook till mashy. |

Add salt chaat masala, lemon juice and coriander chopped. |

Cut the pav into 2 and on the same tawa cook them with butter on the side. Fill them with the masala and serve them. |
