Navratri literally means ‘nine nights’ and each day is devoted to nine different Devi’s. Navratri falls twice a year once in march during spring and again during Oct-Nov, during Fall.

Ingredients

Sabudana Vada

Sabudana(soaked) – 1 cup

Boiled potato – 2 nos

Salt (vrat) – to taste

Green chilly chopped – 1 no

Cumin – 2 tsp

Oil – for frying

 

Charnamrit

Milk – 1 cup

Curd –2 tbsp

Sugar – 1 tsp

Honey –1 tbsp

Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

Rose water – few drops

Kewra drops – few drops

Tulsi chopped (sweet basil) – 2 leaves

 

Pumpkin Mash

Pumpkin diced (bright orange) – 2 cups

Salt (sendha) – to taste

Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp

Saunf (fennel seeds) – 2 tsp

Butter – 1 tbsp

 

Banana Chips

Raw banana – 2 nos

Oil – to fry

Salt – to taste

For Sabudana Vada

Soak sabudana for 3 hours in water so that it blooms completely. .
Mix together all the ingredients and make into small patties and deep fry in hot oil and serve.

For Charnamrit

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Whisk them together to make it smooth. You can also use a blender for the same. Remove to shot glasses and serve chilled.

For Pumpkin Mash

Heat a pan and add butter. Add saunf and saute, Now add diced pumpkin and cook for 5 minutes, add salt and chilly powder and mash it. Cook for another 5-7 minutes and remove and serve.

For Banana Chips

Peel the raw banana, Heat the oil and slice the banana very thin in hot oil. Fry till crispy, remove and sprinkle with salt and serve.
